If you have large household items that you need to dispose of please use our online form to make your booking, alternatively you can contact us on the telephone number below.
You will be asked to provide your name, address and telephone number and also to give a description of the items you would like us to collect. If you are elderly, infirm or disabled and need assistance please mention this to our customer service officer when you ring us.
The officer you speak to will confirm that we are able to take the items you need to dispose of and will give you a date when they will be collected.
We will shortly be offering an on-line service so that you will be able to submit your request electronically. When this service becomes available a connection to the on-line form will appear at the bottom of this page.
We will collect any furniture item or domestic appliance provided it is not excessively large or heavy. We will not collect any construction or demolition material nor will we collect material generated from DIY activities such as bricks, concrete or plasterboard.
We collect domestic appliances and other mainly metal objects on a different vehicle from furniture and other bulky items. We collect appliances separately as they are easily scrapped and recycled for their metal content. Other large items we collect are generally less suitable for recycling.
We make more than 150 collections every day so to be fair to everyone we will only pick up 3 items on each collection (we class a 3-piece suite as 1 item). If you put out bags they please make sure they are not be too heavy and can be lifted easily.
We have moved to a new, integrated system so all your collections (apart from collections of domestic appliances) will be made on the same day. If for example your refuse collection day is a Monday then in future your recycling will be collected on a Monday and any bulky items you ask us to collect (apart from appliances) will also be picked up on a Monday.
We have tried to make as few changes to collection days as possible but there have been some amendments. If you were affected you will have received a letter advising you of any changes and highlighting the day you will receive collections from now on.
We collect domestic appliances separately from other bulky waste and we will advise you of the day we are going to call when you request a collection for these items.
We make the majority of special collections within 10 days of receiving a request There is sometimes a delay because of the high demand for this service but we make every effort to minimise this delay
We have set a limit of 3 collections from a property each year. This is due to the high demand for this service and to ensure that this service is available to everyone.
We do not make any additional charge to residents of Rhondda Cynon Taf for this service.
We will collect large items from businesses provided they are not too large or too heavy. Please contact us by using our contact details at the end of this page to discuss a collection from your business premises. We will make a charge for collections from businesses.
