Beat the school holiday boredom and find out more about what is on offer for you and your family at the next Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Open Day!
A Council Open Day focussing on family fun has been organised at the Rhondda Sports Centre in Ystrad, offering residents of all ages and interests the chance to find out what their Council can do for them – while also having a great day out!
The all-day event on August 12 will include something for everyone, including an exciting showcase of Services for Young People provision, including E3+ sessions and the chance to enjoy DJ-ing with Martin Dibble DJ Workshops, street dance, kick-boxing, circus skills and much, much more.
There will also be football with Cardiff City FC, a bouncy castle and soft play area and scores of other activities to keep young people interested.
As well as showcasing the range of free, fun activities provided for young people, the Open Day will also feature the information and engagement stands that recently attracted hundreds of people to Michael Sobell Sports Centre in Aberdare.
The day will give people the chance to pop in and find out more about community safety, recycling and the environment – including the ongoing food waste recycling scheme that is currently being rolled out to all homes – how to secure support for you and your family, benefits, adult education and more!
The Open Day at Rhondda Sports Centre is open from 9.30am to 7pm.
Cllr Russell Roberts, Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, said: “We provide so many opportunities for our residents, young and old, and are really keen for people to find out just what is on offer.
“That is why we have decided to hold a free, family fun day in the summer holidays, which also acts as an Open Day, enabling people to find out information that can help them.
“We look forward to welcoming people on the day.”
